Dr. Michelle Stauffer, PT, DPT, NBC-HWC (she/her)

“It’s not what you take when you leave this world behind you, it’s what you leave behind you when you go.”

-Randy Travis: Three Wooden Crosses

Education: Dr. Stauffer earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, with additional concentrations in Chemistry and Health Wellness Coaching from Northern Arizona University. Following her Doctorate, Dr. Stauffer became a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, a Certified Functional Nutrition Informed Professional, a Sports Medical Emergency Responder, and a Level 2 Trigger Point Dry Needling Certified Clinician (only 2 levels).

Community Service: Dr. Stauffer serves as the programming chair for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) LGBT+ Physical Therapy Special Interest Group and is a member of the Colorado APTA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Committee. She also supports local sports leagues and events as an on-site sports medical provider, including the Denver Gay and Lesbian Flag Football League, the Denver Squid Water Polo Tournament, and the National 3×3 Basketball Tournament.

Personal: Michelle grew up in Phoenix, AZ, later moved to Flagstaff, AZ, and now resides in Denver, CO, where she fully embraces the Colorado lifestyle. Regardless of the season, you’ll most likely find Michelle outdoors—whether skiing, hiking, camping, mountain biking, off-roading, or taking a day trip out of the city. When she does stay in the city, it’s usually to catch a local sports game, most often cheering for the Denver Nuggets. At home, Michelle enjoys working on her garden and restoring projects, like the 1972 John Deere road bike she refurbished.
